Configure and troubleshoot accessibility services.

The following setting can be accessed from the Control Panel under Accessibility Options.

StickyKeys , which allows you to press the CTRL, ALT, SHIFT, or Windows logo keys and have them remain active until the next time you press a key other than CTRL, ALT, SHIFT, or Windows logo keys. This is useful for people who have difficulty pressing two keys simultaneously.

FilterKeys , which instructs your keyboard to ignore brief or repeated keystrokes. You can also adjust the keyboard repeat rate, which is the rate at which a key repeats when you hold it down.

ToggleKeys, the computer will play a high-pitched sound when the CAPS LOCK, SCROLL LOCK, or NUM LOCK keys are switched on and a low-pitched sound when any of those keys are switched off.

SoundSentry, tells the computer to flash part of your screen every time the system's built-in speaker plays a sound. You can specify which part of the screen flashes by clicking Settings.

ShowSounds, which instructs programs that usually convey information only by sound also to provide all information visually, such as by displaying text captions or informative icons.

High Contrast, Instructs programs to change the color scheme to the one specified in the Settings dialog box instead of using program-specific colors and to increase legibility whenever possible.

MouseKeys, enables you to use the numeric keypad to move the mouse pointer and to click, double-click, and drag.

Utility Manager enables users to check an Accessibility program's status, and start or stop an Accessibility program. Programs accessible from the Utility Manager are Magnifier, Narrator, and On-Screen Keyboard.

Utility Manager, can be accessed from Start | Programs | Accessories | Accessibility, and then click Utility Manager. Or use the Windows Logo key + U shortcut keys.

Narrator is a text-to-speech utility for users who are blind or have low vision. It is designed to work with Notepad, Wordpad, Control Panel programs, Internet Explorer, Windows 2000 desktop, and Windows 2000 setup. It reads what is displayed on your screen ie: The contents of the active window, menu options, and text you have typed.

Magnifier is a display utility that makes the screen more readable for users who have low vision. Magnifier creates a separate window that displays a magnified portion of your screen.

On-Screen Keyboard is a utility that displays a virtual keyboard on your screen and allows users with mobility impairments to type data using a pointing device or joystick.
